This is a great marinara sauce. I like to add bell pepper and fennel seeds to it. I keep it in the fridge for a quick meal like speghetti.

Great sauce! I whipped this up and we had it with chicken satay, two nights in a row.... then we were putting it on toast! Next I think I am going to put it in a rolled turkey breast for that extra flavor kick.

This stuff is GREAT! Decided to try something new for our July 4th fish fry, and used this recipe. Everyone absolutely loved it, and my aunt had me email the recipe to her as well. She commented that this was not like the sweet sauces that she had tried and loved it! The entire family practically fought over this one.....it's a keeper for our group.

This is so easy and yummy! I guess that some had problems with it thickening, but mine came out very thick. I let mine cook an extra 3-5 minutes and then worked it really well through the strainer and scraped the outside of the strainer into my bowl. Anyone can make this!

Have extra basil in your garden right now? Here's a quick and easy vinaigrette dressing you can make with it that you can use not only as a salad dressing, but also as a sauce for fish, chicken, potatoes, tomatoes, or white beans. Here's an idea, use this dressing with some chopped fresh tomatoes and drained canned garbanzo beans. Presto jammo, instant basil-y bean salad. Enjoy.

It was light and delicious. Very easy to make and delicious, delicious, delicious.

We have always had tortillas in the house like most people have bread in theirs. Consequently dishes that call for salsa and tortillas are likely to be prepared often, as we cook with what is on hand. Huevos rancheros is one of those dishes. A classic Mexican breakfast, huevos rancheros are fried eggs served on hot corn tortillas and smothered in cooked salsa. (Made them for lunch today and I'm getting hungry all over again just thinking about them.) In our home "huevos" can mean eggs either scrambled  or fried. When they're fried the runny yolk mixes in with everything, the salsa, the tortillas. I love to take a piece of tortilla and dip it in the yolk and then the salsa. This is good.

Blender hollandaise. It's easy! Even I can do it. Which means even you can do it. So I encourage you to try it, if you like me have been intimidated by the thought of attempting this sauce. Use it over fish, steamed vegetables like broccoli or asparagus, or on top of poached eggs, bacon, and English muffins.

Lots of recipes call for separated eggs.  I taught my nephew how to separate eggs last week. Here's what we do:

My father loves cranberry sauce. I think he enjoys turkey during the holiday season just as an excuse to eat more cranberry sauce. He stocks up on fresh cranberries when they are in season in the fall, and freezes them.
