Simple to make - extremely tasty - no one will guess that they are healthy too!

I rely on Soya beans and its by products for our day to day source of protein along with the more obvious ones like Legumes etc. Among that is Tempeh which I love. Its texture is close to that of a meat and it does look weird. But don’t get fooled by its looks cos its immensely versatile and nutritious. I use it more often in dishes which call for Bacon. They also wonderfully crisp up and add that delicious crunch.

Tostadas  are toasted or fried corn tortillas, topped with a layer of refried beans and other things such as cheese, lettuce, and salsa. Growing up, my mother made tostadas or tacos for us at least once a month, the main difference being that tostadas are flat, crispy, and layered with beans, and tacos are folded and usually without beans. This food is kid heaven - messy, choose your own topping, and incredibly tasty. This month we found a recipe in Fine Cooking for Smokey Refried Bean Tostadas. This recipe called for a slightly different approach to the beans - they suggested adding cumin and Chipotle Tabasco sauce. The chipotle added such a terrific smokey chile flavor to the beans, no salsa was needed on the tostadas. I think they are the best refried beans we've ever had. We make our beans from scratch, so I don't know how it would taste with canned beans, but the smokey flavor of the chipotle is wonderful.

This was fast and easy and perfect for an informal brunchn - we served with fresh fruit and champagne - marvelous!!!!!

This is one of the quickest, easiest, tastiest artichoke dip recipes around. All it takes is 3 simple ingredients, plus salt and pepper if you want, heated quickly in the microwave. Dress it up if you want, with garlic, chili pepper, or dill (other suggestions? please leave them in the comments), but it's terrific just on its own too.

Deviled eggs. Easter egg hunts and summer picnic potlucks. I have been known to devour a dozen of these in one sitting. These were quick and easy. If you want them to be a little prettier, put the egg filling into a freezer bag, make a cut off of one corner of the bag, and pipe them into the egg white halves.
What follows is a basic recipe, though there are so many wonderful variations you can make.

You actually don't need anything beyond some good quality jumbo shrimp and bacon; they were perfectly delicious paired on their own the first time I made them. That said, dressing them up a bit with some lime juice and chipotle seasoning adds some fun layers of flavor.

Here is a quick and easy appetizer, tasty and fun to make.

If your looking different, you found it. Instead of making recepies's pancake mix, I bought a buttermilk mix and used smithfield smoked bacon. For a little more flavor I used a can of sweet basil and onion diced tomatoe and used only half of the creme cheese.
